Hurts So Good…

The books I've been reading lately have really been challenging me to grow. They hurt so good!  One the one hand, they highlight areas of weakness or cause me to reflect on my own unhealthy patterns. On the other hand, I see progress as I work to let God's grace do its work more deeply in my life.

I still have a long way to go!

That's a bit of the paradox of the gospel message. God doesn't need us to have it "all together," rather God uses broken, mistake making, sinners who fail in order to demonstrate his grace and power by transforming us into Saints. Not perfect in the "I never make a mistake" type of way, but perfect in the "with God I am complete" sort of way. To quote the apostle Paul, "When I am weak, then I am strong."

Where have you been feeling weak lately?

Be encouraged that God uses people just like you and me to fulfill God's purposes. God's timing and power can be illustrated in our lives as we let God's Spirit do the work in us that "hurts so good."

In the Strong name of Jesus,
Pastor Nathan
