What a Joke!

In Jesus death and resurrection, God played the biggest joke on the devil, who thought he'd defeated God.

While we may be quick to agree that we are created in God's image, we often don't think of God with a sense of humour.

Images of God often convey a stern, Father who enforces the law, or a mild-mannered Jesus holding lambs. But I think God also likes to laugh. Just think of the platypus!

I pray that as you revel in the good news that Jesus has defeated death and brings new life to dead places you would find a deeper level of joy than you have ever known. I pray that you would be able to picture God as one who likes to laugh. He delights in His creation.
